Keep Active – Feel Better!
 
Starting or maintaining a regular exercise routine in your senior years can be a challenge.  You may feel discouraged by health problems, aches and pains, or have concerns about injuries or falls. If you've never exercised before, you may not know where to begin, or perhaps you think you're too old or frail or maybe you just think that exercise is boring.
 
While these may seem like good reasons to slow down and take it easy as you age, they're even better reasons to get moving.  Becoming more active can energize your mood, relieve stress, help you manage symptoms of illness and pain, and improve your overall sense of well-being. No matter your age or physical condition, you’re never too old to get your body moving and improve your health and outlook.
 
We’re fortunate to live in The Groves and have access to numerous group exercise and dance classes and sports activities as well as our own gym and other nearby gyms. (Check The Groves website and Newsletter for full details.)  
 
Seniors with the Silver Sneakers perk as part of their Medicare insurance plan have free access to some of these gyms as well as the Silver Sneakers classes in The Groves.  Check the following link to see if you’re eligible or contact your insurance company.
