HOA Manager—Items of Interest Submitted by Tom Dee, Communication Association Manager
I want to thank all residents who are trimming their bushes, repairing lawns, pulling their weeds, pressure washing their driveways, sidewalks, walkways and patios. Those of you who have not, unfortunately, will receive violation letters. While this is a key responsibility of Management, I understand it is not fun thing to get a notice in the mail. Almost without exception, if more time is needed to comply with the Community Standards, a very reasonable additional time is given. Overall, the community is looking very good by anyone’s standards. Thanks for all your efforts to keep The Groves beautiful.
Cleanup after Hurricane Irma
The community fared well compared to other parts of the State. The Groves lost power for a short while and except for a few downed trees on the Golf Course, the community didn’t skip a beat. Thanks to all the volunteers, contractors, and the Staff for working together to quickly remove debris to get back to business. Awards were presented to Janette and John Thibodeau, Dan Murphy, Glenn Douglass, Sandy Paxton and Sue and Van Bradley for all their help after Hurricane Irma. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Club Home mulch application is scheduled for the week November 6. The Draft Budget was mailed out to all homeowners on October 13.
The HOA Board will be approving The 2018 Groves HOA Draft Budget at the Board Meeting, 6:30 PM, November 14.
Trash Collection Issues
Both Managers and Director Bill Boutin participated in a meeting with Diane McElvenny, Territory Sales Manager, Waste Connections, on October 12 to discuss missed pickups and other issues. Just to remind the residents, The Groves CDD or HOA doesn’t have a contractual relationship with Waste Connections. However, in this instance, we went to bat for the entire community to facilitate resolving service failings. Waste Connections requested I pass along the following: a new phone system was installed to better handle incoming call volume; Waste Connections is offering a credit of $3.10 to active customers for the inconvenience; and continues to work with Pasco County to offer recycle pickups once a week, perhaps as soon as January 2018.
We are finishing up Phase 8 of the Courtyard Homes. We will begin Phase 9 of the Courtyard Homes by the first of November (depending on rain). Each Phase takes about 3-1/2 weeks to complete.
