Thank You George Clamp of Great Britain Tile
Posted on November 3, 2017 by Sandy Paxton
Many of us are familiar with the name, Great Britain Tile, located just north of The Groves on Route 41. What you may not know is that the owners, George, and his wife, Becki Clamp, are supporters of our community in many ways. Becki is from Kentucky. Her family moved here in 1974. George came from England. They both lived in the same apartment complex and met at the Circle K on Van Dyke. They have now been married for 18 years. Their home is in Wilderness Lakes, but they spend a lot of time at The Groves attending karaoke, bingo and the monthly pancake breakfasts.
Here are just a few ways they contribute to our community:
  • Providing funds for Social Club desserts
  • Providing funds for veterans to receive a free pancake breakfast each month
  • Sponsoring a golf tee box for the Veterans’ Day Golf Tournament which is held here at The Groves
  • Providing tile and labor to refurbish the comfort station on Holes 5 and 14
George came to the United States so his children could get a better education. George likes the people here because “they are people from my generation, have a good upbringing, take care of their property and are responsible folks.” Becki has a son and George has three sons and one daughter. George and Becki also have nine grandchildren, enjoy having family close and are making great memories. Currently, George has applied for his US Citizenship and hopes to become a citizen in November. Good luck George
